NRB 2008: RPI TV Live Production

Posted on 12 August 2008

Overview

Learn the technical and artistic sides of TV production! RPI TV's Live Production program at NRB 2008 will offer new students a fun introduction to life at RPI. Better yet, participants will get a hands-on opportunity to explore television production. Some will learn video switching, sound mixing, and camerawork, while others will start from scratch and prepare a script for live production -- and eventually act in front of the camera. After just one day of work, the students will combine their new skills and create their own live video masterpiece.

Schedule

Tuesday, 19 August 2008

There will be a quick info sesion at 9:30pm in DCC 232 - that's a floor below the main entrance.

Wednesday, 20 August 2008

We'll be meeting at the Union Horseshoe at 8:00 am before proceeding to the DCC.

After we've gotten to know each other, we'll start talking about RPI TV, the available equipment, and what sort of production we would like to create. Then, those interested in technical equipment will get training, and anyone interested in scripting and acting will start work on developing a script. Lunch will be provided by NRB vouchers, and once everyone is fed, we'll all meet back together and start working on finalizing the production, and go through a rehersal before the end of the session, 4:00 pm.

Thursday, 21 August 2008

We'll meet at 8:00 am, this time in the DCC, and ready ourselves for the shoot. If all goes according to plan, we should have a finished product by lunchtime!

RPI TV needs your help.

RPI TV is a Union-funded volunteer student organization that has been providing the RPI community with media services, original programming, and broadcast of notable on-campus events since 2003.

Being a member can entail a variety of things, from directing to acting to editing. There are no club dues. At business meetings, members choose which events they would like to crew, and plans for shows are brought up and worked out.
