Also, we want to make it clear that if you don't have all of the equipment and manpower you need, we'll be glad to help! Rent an RPI TV Cameraman (complete with camera!) to help shoot your film. We don't mind helping out where we can. Shoot us an email to find out more.

The Festival

This fall, RPI TV will be hosting a film festival for all RPI students. Experienced directors and amatures of all levels of experienced are encouraged to participate in the contest. Anyone can enter a short film to be played at our Halloween screening, and have a shot at winning some great prizes for the best and most creative films. The theme, of course, is Horror. We're looking forward all the creepy, surprising, and downright scary storylines you'll come up with!

The Screening

All submitted films will be shown in the screening in the DCC on October 31. There will be food for anyone who wants to come by to watch the submissions, and maybe a film or two of our own. Keep an eye on this page and the Union calendar for more details as the date approaches.

The Films

We're looking for films three to five minutes in length. They will be screened for content, though we expect to show all of them at the screening. Additionally, the top ten submissions (as chosen by the audience) will be shown on campus channel six. To qualify for broadcast, you need to make sure that there are no copyright violations, and the film will additionaly be screened for appropriateness by Rensselaer Media Operations. If you have questions about content, please ask us. Films will be judged by the audience.

Submission

You'll be able to give us your film by uploading a video file to our website, or bringing us a DVD. The deadline for all films is October 28!

Registration

Anyone can register! It takes just a minute to fill out our online form. Please register before October 15. Note that before seeing the form, we will ask you to verify yourself as a student by logging to RPI's Central Authentication System with your RCS password. Don't worry, this is managed by the school, so we won't be able to see your password or any personal information except for your RPI email address.
