Live Broadcasts of Hockey and Football

RPI TV and the RPI Athletics Department are pleased to announce that RPI has partnered with B2 Networks to bring Engineers' Football and Hockey to the RPI community live via the web this season.

As always, RPI TV will be producing all of the Engineers' home football games for delayed broadcast on Campus Channel 6. These enhanced broadcasts, as in the past, include a multi-camera shoot to keep you in the action as well as an excellent commentary provided by WRPI. For the first time, these games will be available live over the internet from anywhere in the world on a pay-per view basis.

In addition, we're working hard to bring the Rensselaer community into the action of RPI Hockey. Time Warner cable's interest in the Engineers means that several RPI Men's Hockey games will be broadcast life over the Time Warner Albany cable network, and RPI TV will bring their broadcast live to campus on Channel 6 while school is in session. All other home games will be produced by RPI TV, and broadcast live with B2 Networks.

Accessing Web Streams

Live events will be aired through the B2 Network's website b2livetv.com. Individual games will be available for purchase up until 10 minutes before the game starts, but RPI TV's broadcasts will begin 15 minutes before the game. Fans wanting to watch RPI events via B2 Networks will need a high-speed Internet connection and Windows Media Player 9 or higher. Each game will also be archived for later viewing.

Purchasing

Fans can purchase individual games, a season of either football or hockey, or an all-sports pass season package. The all-sports pass covers all football and hockey games, as well as away games at other schools that have partnerships with B2 Networks, such as Brown University. It also provides access to the men's hockey games in the Citizen's Bank Governor's Cup at the Times Union Center. Of course, these are also available on a per-game basis.

RPI TV needs your help.

RPI TV is a Union-funded volunteer student organization that has been providing the RPI community with media services, original programming, and broadcast of notable on-campus events since 2003.

Being a member can entail a variety of things, from directing to acting to editing. There are no club dues. At business meetings, members choose which events they would like to crew, and plans for shows are brought up and worked out.
