Posted on 21 August 2006
Learn the technical and artistic sides of TV production! The former will focus on video switching, sound mixing, and camerawork while the latter will give students the experience of preparing a script for live production and acting in front of a camera. At the end, the groups will come together to combine their new skills and create their own live video masterpiece.Tuesday, 22 August 2006
9:00pm - Informational Session in DCC 232
Wednesday, 23 August 2006
9:00am Introduction: Get to know the members of RPI TV and your fellow freshmen. We'll go over the various types of equipment and possible ideas for the production so you can see what we have to offer and decide whether you want to join the technical group or the scripting/acting group.
10:00am Divide into groups: Once you've decided which group you'll join, the groups will separate and RPI TV members will guide the scripting/acting group with idea development and will teach the technical group how to use the equipment.
12:00pm Break for lunch: We'll have meal tickets for both the RPI TV members and freshmen for lunch at the Commons.
1:00pm The groups will reunite to briefly discuss the script and how were going to act/produce/direct/film it. The technical crew will decide on the best way to shoot the production, including camera positions and angles, types of microphones to use, etc.
1:30pm Rehearsal: Once all of the details have been worked out, we'll rehearse a few times so everyone knows exactly what they need to do. Depending on how quickly everyone can learn their tasks, we may stop earlier, but we will likely end around 4:00pm.

9:00am Final rehearsal: Meet and discuss anything we need to and rehearse as much as needed.
10:00am Begin recording final shoot
11:00am Break down and leave (if everything goes well)
